It’s possible to get to Naples and then on to Sorrento by train, using high-speed connections via Paris and Turin or Milan. You can do it in less than 20 hours using a night train from Paris, but we’d recommend a night’s layover in one of the cities.

Just remember than train rides will be more expensive than flights, so don’t come by rail if your priority is a cheap Sorrento break.

Driving is another option. From London to Naples flat out, you’re looking at about 19 hours, assuming you observe the speed limit and get lucky with the traffic. From Naples, it’s about another hour and a half to reach Sorrento itself. Getting there this way will be epic but memorable, and you’d be missing out if you didn’t break the journey up.
